Health First Announces Opening of Princeton Location;
Jami Perry, MD Joins Health First

PROVIDENCE, Ky. — Health First Community Health Center will open a new clinic in Princeton July 5. Located at 1100 S Jefferson Street, this new location will be Health First’s eighth health center in western Kentucky.

“Health First is committed to providing the highest quality of care in the communities we serve,” said Health First CEO LeAnn Langston. “We want to be the first choice for care when you are sick, and also be here to help with chronic health issues such as weight management, diabetes, and tobacco use. Our team looks forward to caring for the people of Caldwell County by providing a true medical home for people of all ages.”

At its Princeton location, Health First will provide family practice, behavioral health, and laboratory services. Family practice physician Jami Perry, MD, whom recently joined the Health First medical staff, will see patients at this location. Perry was previously in private practice in Princeton.

Dr. Perry has practiced family medicine for nearly nine years in Princeton. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and completed her residency in family medicine at Baptist Health (Trover Foundation). She is a graduate of Crittenden County High School.

“Practicing medicine in my hometown is important to me,” said Perry. “It is a privilege to care for my friends and neighbors. Joining with Health First allows me to align with a team of dedicated healthcare professionals who feel like I do –  that our patients health should always be our first concern.”

As a federally funded community health center, Health First is able to offer several programs to address financial obstacles, including a sliding fee scale based on income and family size. Additionally, they offer assistance with the cost of prescription drugs to those who qualify through the 340B Discount Drug Program and KPAP. Its Outreach Services department helps connect patients with needed resources throughout the community, serving as a true partner and patient advocate.

Health First Community Health Center strives to serve as a focal point in the region for increasing access to primary care and improving health regardless of financial status. Through compassionate, evidence-based care, the Health First team offers hope and assistance for all they serve. Anyone with diabetes is at risk for diabetic eye disease.  Often there are no symptoms until the disease is advanced.  For that reason, we recommend that anyone with or at risk for diabetes have a comprehensive dilated eye examination at least once a year.  Early detection and treatment are the key to maintaining healthy vision.
