Health First Launches Pet Food Drive to Support Local Shelters

March 30, 2018

Health First has launched its first Pet Food Drive throughout its seven (7) clinics in Western, Kentucky to support local animal shelters. The Pet Food Drive will run through Friday, April 13. During this time, staff, patients and community members are encouraged to purchase pet food or basic care supplies to donate to pets in need.

Many animal shelters are suffering with declining donations due to the poor economy. Each year, approximately 7.6 million animals enter animal shelters nationwide, according to the ASPCA. As more pets are being abandoned or neglected, many shelters are running at full capacity. We want to continue to give back to the communities that we serve. “Our goal is to fill our clinic windows with donations”, says representative Jennafer Jerger. You may drop off donations at any Health First location during operating hours. Donations will go to the local animal shelter.
