We are proud to announce the appointment of Shelley Gobin as the new CEO for our organization. She will assume responsibilities effective immediately.
“After a nationwide search, the Health First Board of Directors has completed the arduous task of searching for a CEO,” said Mr. Nibby Priest, President of Health First Board of Directors. “The CEO Search Committee had over 20 applicants to choose from and took several factors into consideration in making this decision. Gobin has 22 years healthcare experience and has proven herself as a leader over the past several months, serving as the Interim CEO.”
Gobin has been part of the Health First team for 5 years, beginning in the Nursing and Quality department before being promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2015.
“It is an honor to have been selected by the Health First Board of Directors to lead this organization and care for the health and wellness needs of our region,” said Gobin. “Being from this area, I am invested in the community and my vision is provide vital healthcare services to those in need. Having a background in nursing and quality, you will find that I am passionate about providing quality care. Our team of health care professionals does an outstanding job with this. I look forward to growing the organization, both internally and externally.”
Gobin earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of the Cumberlands and associates degree in nursing from Madisonville Community College. She has been a Registered Nurse in Kentucky since 2003. Prior to obtaining her RN license, she worked as a LPN from 2001 to 2003.
During her nursing career, she has worked in the hospital, long term care and healthcare clinic settings. She has held several positions from providing direct patient care to administration.
Gobin is a native of Muhlenberg County. She resides in Shady Grove with her husband, Snapper and two sons, Riley and Case.
